Medical strengthens its partnership with VA to support military, veteran health care

PHILADELPHIA — The partnership between the Defense Logistics Agency and the Veterans Affairs continues to grow as the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center begins using the Medical supply chain’s Medical/Surgical Prime Vendor program.

Medical helps new Navy ships join the fleet

PHILADELPHIA — As the U.S. Navy continues to build new ships, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Medical supply chain helps the ships meet their medical requirements.

Spc. Michael Maycock and Spc. Colt Parris, fire direction operators serving in the Wyoming Army National Guard, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion 2/300 Field Artillery Battalion, Forward, inventory and organize their Combat Lifesaver bags during a 40-hour CLS course at the 213th Regional Training Institute, Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center, Jan. 9, 2019. The bags will deploy overseas with the soldiers later this year.

Wyoming Army National Guard Soldiers gear up for combat lifesaving

Hospital Ship to Support Humanitarian Effort in Latin America

MIAMI — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Defense Department website — The Navy's Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort will deploy to Central America and South America in late September to begin a two-month humanitarian mission with stops in Colombia and elsewhere in the region.

The multi-channel wound vacuum system is tested on a simulated patient in a C-130 static aircraft display at the 59th Medical Wing, San Antonio, Texas, Dec. 1, 2016. The multi-channel wound vacuum system, which is used to promote wound healing on critical patients, is able to replace the capabilities of four single-channel systems. This smaller, more transportable device makes it easier for aeromedical evacuation crews to deliver en route wound care to patients with multiple wounds. The Air Force Medical Evaluation Support Activity (AFMESA) team was involved in the testing of the multi-channel wound vacuum system, ensuring the device could perform in the operational environment.
