C&T reestablishes face-to-face relationships with military clothing vendors, gauge state of industry

PHILADELPHIA — As American manufacturers continue making uniform and equipment items for warfighters, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textiles supply chain team are checking out their operations in-person.

Justin Swartzmiller discusses the importance of collaboration between DLA, military services and industry partners during a webinar presentation Nov. 5, 2020, as part of the sixth annual Joint Advanced Planning Brief for Industry. Webinars will continue throughout the month where C&T team members and military service partners will brief industry on future requirements and business opportunities for clothing and individual equipment.

Troop Support commander encourages open, candid dialogue with American clothing, textiles manufacturers

PHILADELPHIA — Warfighter support, strong partnerships and performance were key objectives of the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s fiscal 2019 campaign plan, the commander discussed with American clothing and textiles manufacturers Feb. 27.

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed the first proclamation officially recognizing Military Spouse Appreciation Day. The Department of Defense then standardized the date by declaring the Friday before Mother's Day every year as Military Spouse Appreciation Day. In 1999, Congress officially made Military Spouse Appreciation Day a part of National Military Appreciation Month.
