86 MXS crawls into C-130 fuel tank inspection

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Ramstein Air Base website — Two crews of Airmen assigned to the 86th Maintenance Squadron worked around the clock for 10 days experiencing the fuel tanks while performing a mandatory inspection for a C-130 that had reached its 12-year mark from July 30 to Aug. 9.

Refueling mission linchpin in allied training

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 459th Air Refueling Wing website — Last week, the 459th Air Refueling Wing provided refueling escort to ten A-10C Thunderbolt IIs from the 175th Wing, Maryland Air National Guard, on their way to Estonia while simultaneously administering training to aircrews with the newly established 914th Air Refueling Wing, Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, New York.

Soldiers with the 947th Quartermaster Company, Chambersburg, PA, receive a fuel truck at a fuel system supply point July 19, 2017, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., during a Quartermaster Liquid Logistic Exercise. The exercise tested the Soldiers capability to safely and efficiently receive incoming fuel trucks and download thousands of gallons fuel. Once the fuel was received, the Soldiers cleaned and recirculated it before refilling trucks awaiting resupply.

Mission Complete: DFSP San Pedro closes last tank

SAN PEDRO, California — Tank 17, the last tank to be filled with foam crete and solidify, marks the milestone closure of 27 underground tanks at the U.S. Navy owned Defense Fuel Support Point in San Pedro, California, July 20.

Marines attached to 3rd Transportation Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistic Group, move a hose reel system during Operation Pacific Reach Exercise 2017 (OPRex17). OPRex17 is a bilateral training event designed to ensure readiness and sustain the ROK-U.S. Alliance by exercising an Area Distribution Center (ADC), an Air Terminal Supply Point (ATSP), Combined Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (CJLOTS), and the use of rail, inland waterways, and coastal lift operations to validate the operational reach concept.

DLA Energy is helping save money while protecting a sensitive habitat in California.
