POL enables faster turnarounds, longer missions

Sgt. Zachary Beggin, 23d LRS NCO in charge of fuels distribution. “They hookup, refuel and their back up in the air and it decreases ground time by 66 percent.”

Filled liquid oxygen carts are ready for pick-up at the 673d Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels facilities section at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Dec. 4, 2017. Oxygen is pressurized and cooled into a liquid state in order to transport it more efficiently from cryogenic tanks to JBER’s aircraft to provide fresh air to pilots in flight.
