DLA Energy Commander visits Texas aerostat site

Two miles east of the Rio Grande, high above the desolate South Texas chaparral land, tethered surveillance balloons, filled with helium from DLA Energy Aerospace keep watch. Observing the large, low-altitude aircraft, a DLA Energy team visited the Tethered Aerostat Radar System site at El Indio, Texas, Sept. 29.

DLA petroleum lab partners with high school in Germany

Two Ramstein High School students are getting hands-on learning at the DLA Energy Europe & Africa petroleum lab in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The six-month Department of Defense Education Activity Europe Career Practicum Student Internship Program matches a student with a professional experience based on their career interest.

Task Force Americas is a team of DLA Energy employees who respond to and support a variety of emergency situations under the Defense Support of Civil Authorities mission. Their latest mission was providing fuel support to the FEMA following Hurricane Ida’s landfall on the Gulf Coast.

The 36th Logistics Readiness Squadron Fuels Management and DLA Energy South-West Pacific held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 1 to mark the completion of a new facility that will improve warfighter resiliency on the strategic Pacific air base.
