National Native American Heritage Month event highlights theme: ‘Grounded in tradition, resilient in spirit’

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support celebrated National Native American Heritage Month with a virtual observance on Nov. 10 at its Philadelphia headquarters. James Metcalfe II, the director of the Western New York National Cemetery and a citizen of the Seneca Nation of the Iroquois Confederacy, was the event’s keynote speaker. He addressed this year’s theme of, “Grounded in tradition, resilient in spirit.”

DLA Distribution Commanding General delivers Veterans Day remarks

The theme for Veterans Day 2021, “Honoring All Who Served,” is centered on the centennial commemoration of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which was dedicated on Armistice Day, November 11, 1921, with the burial of an unknown World War I service member. In the aftermath of WWII and the Korean War, Armistice Day became Veterans Day, a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

DLA Distribution Brenda Watkins retiring after 16 year career

Brenda Watkins is retiring from Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Anniston, Alabama in December following a 16-year career. Watkins started her career in January 2005 as a distribution process worker.
