Former Current Operations deputy receives Defense Meritorious Service Medal

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Former DLA Distribution Current Operations deputy director Army Col. Michael C. Lopez was recognized with the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his three years of service to the organization.

Susquehanna installation hosts former hostage Matt Schrier

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna recently hosted photographer and former Syrian hostage Matt Schrier for the quarterly Force Protection Lecture Series, which highlighted Schrier’s strategies to survive and detailed how he was able to escape the situation and return to the United States.

Agency wins 5 Value Engineering Awards

Arlington, VIRGINIA — One Defense Logistics Agency employee and four teams were awarded Department of Defense Value Engineering Achievement Awards for fiscal 2015 at a Pentagon ceremony, June 28.

Very familiar with DLA Distribution operations, Visker previously served as the deputy commander of the Susquehanna distribution center.

Susquehanna installation’s oldest building celebrates grand reopening

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — The Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna installation celebrated the official reopening of its Susquehanna Club with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 15. Installation leadership, employees and community members came together to observe the renovations to the centuries-old barn that now serves as an event venue.

Distribution headquarters celebrates the 241st Army birthday

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — In a ceremony held in the DLA Distribution Headquarters lobby, senior leaders, military members and civilian staff celebrated the U.S. Army’s 241st Birthday on June 14, 2016. As one of his last official actions as commanding general, Army Brig. Gen. Richard B. Dix spoke about the significance and history, followed by presentation of several awards honoring Distribution headquarters staff.
