Changes occurring on Defense Supply Center Richmond

Those working within Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Planning Process Directorate on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, have new, temporary homes. More than 220 people moved from Building 31, H Bay and Building 32, H and M Bays into the four huge trailers in the parking lot in front of bldg. 59 along G Road. The move took place between May 3-10.

This year’s theme is “This Is EMS: Caring for Our Communities.” According to the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians website, in 1974 President Gerald Ford authorized Emergency Medical Services Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities.

DLA Installation Management Richmond aces yearly environmental management audit

In 2005, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia’s Environmental Management System was first registered to the international environmental management standard, ISO 14001. This standard specifies the requirements for an effective EMS. It provides the framework that an organization can follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements.

Damon Heemstra, the chief, of the Planning and Support Division in the Customer Operations Directorate at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Jacksonville, Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, was awarded the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Leadership Award for the month of March 2021.

Agile acquisition response keeps C-130s in the air

Resolving aircraft safety issues is a time-sensitive mission affecting a number of agencies, and when a critical part was needed to repair C-130 Hercules aircraft, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation collaborated with other groups to ensure parts were available six weeks ahead of schedule.
