NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Quetcy Gonzalez, transportation damage and loss claims examiner at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the Week for the week of May 2 to 6, 2016.

Navy Lt. Tu Luong, safety and health manager at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., has been awarded the Distribution Company Grade Officer of the Quarter for second quarter, fiscal year 2016.

San Joaquin’s Luong awarded Company Grade Officer of the Quarter

SAN JOAQUIN, California — Navy Lt. Tu Luong, safety and health manager at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., has been awarded the Distribution Company Grade Officer of the Quarter for second quarter, fiscal year 2016.

The first full week in May has been set aside to honor public servants since 1985.

Recognition Week spotlights work of public servants

Defense Logistics Agency employees make a difference, the agency’s senior enlisted leader said in a May 2 blog post in honor of Public Service Recognition Week.

Defense Supply Center Richmond's annual "Bring Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day" was held April 28, 2016, in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center in Richmond, Virginia. During the activities, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Senior Enlisted Advisor Marine Master Gunnery Sgt. Phu Cao and his sons Huy, center, and Trung, right, share positive messages. The event, titled "Sparkling Aha! Moments,” was open to children ages 8-19, and over 160 children participated.

DLA employees bring daughters and sons to work for annual event

RICHMOND, Virginia — “Take your Daughters and Sons to Work Day” was celebrated at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, April 28. More than 160 children from various Defense Logistics Agency activities on DSCR participated in the annual event, which was sponsored by the Strategic Acquisitions Directorate and the Equal Employment Opportunity Office.

Strategic Goals Award winners announced for first quarter, fiscal 2016

Defense Logistics Agency Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch has announced the DLA Strategic Goals Award winners for the first quarter of fiscal 2016. This quarterly award recognizes measurable contributions by teams or individuals to achieving the goals set forth in the DLA Strategic Plan.

Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection and sustainability. NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection and sustainability. Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year.
