SEPRT held in Richmond, moving from managing parts to strategic solutions

Richmond, Virginia — The annual Senior Executive Partnership Roundtable was held at the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, May 10. The SEPRT gathers senior executives from strategic supplier alliances to meet with the Defense Logistics Agency leadership and military customer senior leaders to discuss general issues affecting DLA Aviation suppliers.

Since returning from her Defense Logistics Agency Support Team-Kuwait deployment in 2015, Amelia Stanko understands better how the strategic contracts she works on, as a contracting officer in the Supply Operations Commodities Directorate of DLA Aviation, impact the warfighter. Personal experience: Why DST is important, why I would do it again

Richmond, Virginia — Many people have asked me why I volunteered to go to Kuwait. Even more have asked me if I was scared. If I am very honest, the answer is yes. But if I admitted that even to myself, I would not have gone.

DLA helps Army units save time, money in 'surge' disposition event

Fort Hood, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency personnel helped Army units at Fort Hood, Texas, save 4,300 man hours in document preparation and screening in a recent two-week event, in which 859 vehicles turned in 400,000 pounds of scrap metal.

Marine acquisition leaders explore expanding DLA support during visit

PHILADELPHIA — Two leaders from Marine Corps Systems Command, the service’s acquisition authority, visited Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support April 5 to learn how the agency could expand support in equipping Marines.

In an awards ceremony held Mar. 10, 2017, Irby received an exceptional meritorious service award for her performance during a 4-month assignment to Fleet Readiness South West at San Diego, California. Her performance on assignment led to implementing Deputy Materiel Management Chief military positions to be placed at each of the FRC sites.

New military positions connecting processes at FRC’s

Richmond, Virginia — From October 2015 through February 2016, Navy Lt. Traci Irby backfilled a position at DLA Aviation at the Navy Fleet Readiness Center Southwest in San Diego. Little did anyone know it would end up being the catalyst for the permanent implementation of military junior officer positions to be placed at each of the FRC sites DLA Aviation supports.

Director calls for sustained support to nuclear enterprise

The director of the Defense Logistics Agency joined with senior leaders from partner agencies to discuss how DLA can continue to improve its support to the nuclear enterprise, during a DLA Internal Nuclear Enterprise Summit at the McNamara Headquarters Complex March 8.
