Defense Department official visits DLA Distribution

Top enlisted position changes command at DLA Distribution Susquehanna

The position of senior enlisted advisor at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, changed hands May 4 as Army 1st Sgt. Marcio F. Teixeira relinquished command to Army 1st Sgt. Gabriel L. Hamilton. The moment doubled as a retirement ceremony for Teixeira honoring his over 20 years of service in the U.S. Army.

DLA firefighters save lives in New Cumberland apartment fire

As fire raged through an apartment building on 813 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, Defense Logistics Agency firefighters assigned to DLA Installation Management Susquehanna Fire & Emergency Services responded to the fire alarm at 7:26 a.m. Dec. 30. Initial reports from the scene identified a fire in a first-floor apartment and multiple victims trapped on the second floor.

Michael A. Fleming, supervisory counsel, labor and employment for Defense Logistics Agency Distribution General Counsel, retired March 31 from federal service after a thirty-eight-year career.

Firefighter and Police Officer of the Year for San Joaquin County

Firefighter/Engineer Joseph Guerrero and Police Sgt. Ken-Ken DeVera from Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management San Joaquin, California, were recognized as San Joaquin County’s 2022 Firefighter and Police Officer of the Year during a community recognition dinner hosted by the Tracy American Legion Post 172, March 26. Guerrero will now compete for Regional Firefighter of the Year honors.

NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Sigonella lauds DLA Distribution Europe support to High North

Navy Capt. Douglas MacKenzie, commanding officer of Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center in Sigonella, Italy, visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Europe in Germersheim, Germany, March 7. Army Lt. Col. Katie Dlugosz, and her leadership team provided a warehouse tour for MacKenzie and Navy Cmdr. Treven Feleciano, FLCSI operational officer, demonstrating the expanded support DDDE is providing to ships in Crombie, Scotland, operating in the area known as the “High North.” The tour was followed by a synchronization meeting to help ensure timely support to Crombie.
