DLA San Joaquin celebrates Resiliency Day

TRACY, California — Employees of DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., located in Tracy, Calif., kicked off Resiliency Day on Sept. 7, but senior leadership went one step further and declared the entire month of September “Resiliency Month.”

Roshad Chatman, a material handler at DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, took advantage of the fitness program, one of DLA’s programs offered to employees to promote resiliency, and began working out at the installation gym to lose 130 pounds after losing his stock selectors license.

Red River’s Chatman makes use of DLA’s Health and Wellness program to lose 130 pounds

RED RIVER, Texas — Roshad Chatman, a material handler at DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, faced a harsh reality when at 409 pounds, he lost his license to drive the stock selector. The stock selector license carries a weight limit of 300 pounds, meaning he would have to lose 109 pounds.

TOBYHANNA, Pennsylvania — Army Lt. Col. Jerome (Jay) Barnard assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Tobyhanna, Pa., in a ceremony on September 9. The ceremony was officiated by DLA Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. John Laskodi.

Tobyhanna marks outgoing commander’s accomplishments

TOBYHANNA, Pennsylvania — As Army Lt. Col. John Turner prepares to depart tomorrow as commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Tobyhanna, Pa., the distribution center celebrated his accomplishments during his tour.

DLA Distribution’s Expeditionary team, Distributions 25th distribution center, has deployed to operate the Incident Support Base in support of FEMA Region IV Defense Support to Civil Authorities at Maxwell Air Force Base located in Montgomery, Ala., in the wake of the overwhelming flooding in Louisiana.

Distributions Expeditionary team provides support to Louisiana flood victims

MONTGOMERY, Alabama — In an effort to support humanitarian efforts in the wake of the overwhelming flooding in Louisiana, DLA Distribution’s Expeditionary team, Distributions 25th distribution center, has deployed to operate the Incident Support Base in support of FEMA Region IV Defense Support to Civil Authorities at Maxwell Air Force Base located in Montgomery, Ala.

DLA Distribution initiates mapping operations at Fort Bragg

FORT BRAGG, North Carolina — On August 16, DLA Distribution’s newest operation, DLA Distribution Mapping at Fort Bragg, delivered its first shipment, consisting of four topographic maps for mission planning, to local customers.

Air Mobility students learn Distribution, tour DoD’s largest warehouse

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On Aug. 24, students in the Advanced Study of Air Mobility Program from United States Air Force Expeditionary Center, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., stopped by DLA Distribution headquarters in New Cumberland, Pa., to learn how the organization operates 25 distribution centers globally, before touring the Department of Defense’s largest warehouse at DLA Distribution Susquehanna.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On his first trip as commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, Army Brig. Gen. John Laskodi made stops to meet employees and tour locations in Jacksonville, Fla., Warner Robins, Ga., Albany, Ga., Cherry Point, N.C., Richmond, Va., Oklahoma City, Okla., and Hill, Utah.

William Krahling, director of United States European Command and United States Africa Command Regional Operations, and his staff visited DLA Distribution headquarters and its largest distribution center in the network, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on Aug. 18 to discuss DLA’s global logistics processes and how DLA Distribution supports the warfighter.
