DLA Director visits DLA Distribution San Joaquin

SAN JOAQUIN, California — Defense Logistics Agency director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch visited DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., Sept. 11 to discuss command operations and tour facilities at DLA’s western Strategic Distribution Platform as well as host a town hall discussing the DLA Strategic Plan.

San Joaquin engages in healthy competition for audit readiness

SAN JOAQUIN, California — Employees of DLA Distribution San Joaquin’s Freight Terminal incorporated audit preparedness into a recent stand-up morning meeting by playing Audit Readiness Jeopardy. Three teams competed against each other to be crowned as the Audit Readiness Jeopardy champions.

San Joaquin’s Placeres wins Global Distribution Excellence: Material Management Senior Civilian Manager of the Year

SAN JOAQUIN, California — Frances Placeres, receiving division chief at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., has been awarded Global Distribution Excellence: Material Management Senior Civilian Manager of the Year for her innovation and dedication to the distribution center’s mission.

The DLA Information Technology Contingency team stood up the Mobile Emergency Response Center at DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., during an installation-wide communication outage. The satellite communications provided enabled the Emergency Support Operations Center to process emergent materiel release orders.

IT contingency team provides critical support to DLA Distribution San Joaquin

SAN JOAQUIN, California — As a direct result of a cut fiber optic cable in the nearby city of French Camp, all communications at Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin, located in Tracy, Calif., were severed early last week, affecting all networks, landlines and cellular service.

Lathrop Police Services chief of police Danelle Hohe served as the keynote speaker at the Peace Officer’s Memorial Observance ceremony held at Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin, Calif.’s Public Safety Center May 13.

San Joaquin installation pays tribute to fallen officers

SAN JOAQUIN, California — Employees of Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin, Calif., and law enforcement officers from the local community paid tribute to fallen law enforcement officers during a morning National Peace Officers’ Memorial Observance May 13. Capt. Danelle Hohe, chief of police for Lathrop Police Services, served as the keynote speaker.
