Airmen at Aviano Air Base, Italy filled the Army and Air Force Exchange Service sales store to purchase the Operational Camouflage Pattern utility uniform October 1, 2018. DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles worked with its Air Force counterparts and other key stakeholders since April to ensure more than 17,000 uniforms were delivered to five military clothing sales stores, including Aviano Air Base, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina and MacDill AFB, Florida for the initial fielding.

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support representatives discussed key industry topics with military clothing and equipment manufacturers that employ blind and visually impaired Americans Sept. 6.

Air Force Col. Melvin Maxwell is the new DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles director, after onboarding in August. Maxwell previously served at the Pentagon as chief of the enterprise strategy and analysis branch under the deputy chief of staff at Air Force Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

PHILADELPHIA — An Air Force officer now leads the team responsible for outfitting military service members with uniforms, equipment and more, by taking the reigns as Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textiles’ director.

C&T employees go extra miles with the DLA Wellness Program

PHILADELPHIA — The last topic of DLA Troop Support’s VPP campaign is Well-Being. Employees from the Clothing & Textiles supply chain are taking advantage of the DLA Wellness Program to not just improve their well-being, but compete in extreme long distance races.

DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles’ Type III Navy Working Uniform Planning Team won DLA’s Team of the Year Award for their support of the Navy’s latest utility uniform transition. The cross-functional team met weekly to meet the Navy’s requirements, including an accelerated timeline and 400 distinct items encompassing varying sizes of five uniform items.

PHILADELPHIA — When the Navy announced it was changing sailors’ utility uniforms in 2016, a planning team from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textiles supply chain geared up a plan for sustainment.

Troop Support senior enlisted leader retires with nearly 26 years of service

PHILADELPHIA — On the cusp of Memorial Day, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s senior enlisted service member thanked fallen military members for their service during his retirement ceremony May 23. Army Master Sgt. Jose Moraga retired from the military with nearly 26 years of service.

Troop Support Spotlight: Victoria Czaia

PHILADELPHIA — Victoria Czaia, DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles customer account specialist and culture improvement team member, was teaching English in China during the Sichuan earthquake of 2008, 10 years ago today. Czaia joined the Red Cross there to help those affected.

DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles’ culture improvement team conducted a War Games exercise to enhance communication throughout the supply chain, as a result of employees identifying streamlined communication as an area for improvement in previous culture climate survey results. The 2018 DLA culture climate survey is open until April 17. Employees are encouraged to provide insight on their experiences at DLA by completing the survey.

The exercise was a result of employees identifying streamlined communication as an area for improvement in previous culture climate survey results. The 2018 DLA culture climate survey is open until April 17.

Troop Support provides Easter, Passover support to service members across globe

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support provides annual religious support to service members across the globe for the Easter and Passover holidays. This year, Troop Support provided more than 170,000 pounds of food, 11,000 Meals, Ready-to-Eat and 115 orders of palm, wine, Jewish ceremonial Seder kits and ashes.

C&T provides winter clothes to Syrians returning home

PHILADELPHIA — Nearly 15,000 internally displaced persons returning to a liberated Raqqah, Syria, received winter clothes and blankets provided by the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support.
