Subsistence supports USS Indianapolis ahead of commissioning ceremony

PHILADELPHIA — When the USS Indianapolis commissioned Oct. 26 in Indiana, it was a first for the United States Navy and posed a unique challenge for the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain.

DSA supports Cuban Missile Crisis 1 year after founding

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — By quickly responding during to the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Defense Supply Agency proved itself as the nation’s preeminent source of combat logistics.
