And when they do, the aftermath can be devastating, which is why Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, employees participate in a Statewide Tornado Drill each year.

Troop Support staff office ‘steps into the breach,’ thanked by commander

Four acquisition professionals from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support were recognized for their teamwork and accomplishments Feb. 6 in Philadelphia. Joan Estelly, Raeshon Falkowski, Eileen Friel and Nate Prattico, all from DLA Troop Support’s Procurement Directorate, received certificates of appreciation and a command coin from DLA Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Mark Simerly as thanks for their contributions to the Construction and Equipment supply chain during a period of high demand and employee turn-over.

Finding balance at the summit: Troop Support employee climbs Kilimanjaro

Not many people can claim that they have danced with an African tribe, climbed to the top of the highest peak in Africa and watched a sunset from above the clouds. But thanks to an adventurous spirit and a supportive workplace, Jeff Crow can make that claim. Crow, a material planner in the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Industrial Hardware supply chain and avid trekker from Colorado, decided he needed to take a trip to provide stability to his work-life balance - and a tropical vacation wasn’t going to do the trick. He needed a challenge. He was going to climb Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro - one of the “Seven Summits,” which are the highest peaks on each of Earth’s continents.

Troop Support brings cheer to workforce with 2018 holiday decorating contest

Employees of Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support supply chain and staff offices participated in a holiday decorating contest in Philadelphia Dec. 20. Employees created holiday “postage stamp” themed scenes depicting their piece of the agency’s Warfighter support mission, and entries were judged by Troop Support’s senior leadership team. Congratulations to 2018’s winners: 1st Place – Industrial Hardware; 2nd Place – Clothing and Textiles; 3rd Place – Command Support.
