DLA Troop Support employees donate 4,000 meals to neighbors in need

PHILADELPHIA — In their tenth year of participating in the campaign, employees at DLA Troop Support donated more than 3,000 pounds of food to the Feds Feed Families food drive.

Two students proceed through the lunch line at Sayre School District in Pennsyvania. The school district gets its fresh fruits and vegetables through a partnership between DLA Troop Support and the USDA School Lunch program.

School children, warfighters help each other through DLA food-acquisition partnership

PHILADELPHIA — A partnership between the USDA and DOD is enabling the warfighter and school districts to spend money more efficiently while providing nutritious foods. The USDA DOD Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, which is managed by DLA Troop Support, leverages whole-of-government buying power.

“Historic” is the word for this year’s Wildland fires. Now supplies are coming back to be refurbished and made ready to battle the next incident. Rocky Mountain Interagency Support Cache Materiel Handler, Damion Diaz, is pulling DLA supplied host that’s been tested, washed, and dried and ready to fight fires.

DoD Fresh program highlighted in new video

PHILADELPHIA — Subsistence acquisition professionals in DLA Troop Support manage the DoD Fresh Program, and in coordination with the USDA’s National School Lunch Program, they provide fresh produce to 12,000 schools in 48 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam.

Subsistence grows produce support to Alabama schools with satsumas

PHILADELPHIA — Schoolchildren in Alabama are enjoying a citrus treat this winter thanks in part to DLA Troop Support. Satsumas are a seedless fruit with loose skin grown in Alabama. And the Subsistence supply chain provides them to schools through the DOD Fresh Program.

Small Tribes of Western Washington, based in Lakewood, is one of 125 Native American organizations with members whose fruits and vegetables are delivered by regional produce companies working on DLA Troop Support contracts as part of the USDA Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations.

DLA Troop Support, USDA help Native American tribes provide fresh fruits, vegetables

For more than 20 years, DLA Troop Support has partnered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help Native American tribes provide fresh fruits and vegetables to people living on or near Indian reservations.

Students enjoy fresh produce provided through the Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. The program allows schools to order fresh produce from DLA Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain using U.S. Department of Agriculture entitlement funds.

As school year begins, Subsistence continues produce support for students

Philadelphia — As another school year starts, DLA Troop Support is set to provide fresh produce for students at approximately 12,000 schools throughout the U.S. In a partnership with the USDA, Subsistence provides produce to schools in 48 states.

Oklahoma third graders appreciate produce provided by Troop Support

PHILADELPHIA — Plums, apples, carrots and lemon water are just a few produce items third graders at Eugene Field Elementary School were thankful for during their summer school program.
