Aggressive contaminated groundwater cleanup efforts on DCSR discussed during RAB

For the first time in more than a year, community members could attend the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond Environmental Cleanup Program’s quarterly Restoration Advisory Board meeting in person at the Bensley Community Center in Chesterfield County, Virginia, July 12. These meetings were held virtually since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

Demolition of Building 33 on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, continues as part of Phase 2 for the Defense Logistics Aviation Operations Center. Destruction began earlier this year with most of it happening over the past month.

DSCR Fire Department maintains safety throughout pandemic, resumes employee fire and safety training

The Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond, Fire and Emergency Services’ Fire Prevention Office has been working continually maintaining a culture of safety on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, through the pandemic and is currently conducting safety and fire training to ensure employee safety when employees transition back to working on the installation.

DLA Installation Management Richmond aces yearly environmental management audit

In 2005, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia’s Environmental Management System was first registered to the international environmental management standard, ISO 14001. This standard specifies the requirements for an effective EMS. It provides the framework that an organization can follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements.

They gathered for a wreath laying ceremony at the Police Memorial in Chesterfield, Virginia, May 11.
