Defense Logistics Agency People and Culture Directorate quickly stepped up to the plate and adjusted a face-to-face meeting to a virtual platform due to the Social Distancing order. On March 18, virtual training sessions on the Department of Defense Performance Management and Appraisal Program and Social Contract information for new employees and supervisors were presented.

Level I Mentoring Program Graduation

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime will celebrate the graduation of 20 associates from its Level I Mentoring Program Feb. 26 at 9:30 a.m. in the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Operations Center Auditorium. The mission of the program is to allow DLA Land and Maritime associates below the General Schedule and Wage Grade 9 levels to develop mentoring and protégé relationships with other associates, and build on their own personal and professional skills.

FY20 Executive Development Program seeks nominations

The Defense Logistics Agency Executive Development Program is currently seeking nominations for fiscal year 2020. The purpose of the EDP is to develop DLA’s current and future leaders, prepare them to effectively navigate and manage leadership challenges, and develop leadership competencies critical to maintaining supply chain excellence.

2020 Solicitation for FY20 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program

The developmental assignments have been posted for the FY20 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program. Nominations are now being accepted. Enterprise assignments are cross-organizational, at the GS-11 through GS-15 level, and range in length from 3 to 12 months. Assignments are available at several locations throughout the Agency and begin in January 2020 or shortly thereafter.

DSCC Installation CPR and AED Training Program

The training and existence of voluntary First Response Team members lessens the impact of sudden cardiac arrest by supporting employee and worksite preparedness and response and optimizing a person’s chance for survival. Team members are volunteers, who are currently certified. Responsibilities include providing CPR, the use of an AED or Heimlich Maneuver for choking in an emergency situation to associates who are in need of assistance until emergency personnel arrive. Associates can register for a class by calling the Building 21 Health Clinic at 614-701-5104.

EMS Week Spotlight: Jason Stanley

“DLA Columbus Fire and Emergency Services would like to honor Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician Jason Stanley for his efforts beyond the call,” said, DLA Columbus Assistant Fire Chief Paul Alexander. Stanley first became a firefighter and an EMT in 1994. He joined DLA Columbus as a fire inspector in 2008. In 2010, he transitioned from a fire inspector role to that of a firefighter and EMT. Stanley joined the Ohio Air National Guard as a Search and Extraction Medic in 2013. He’s current a Staff Sergeant and will be promoted to Technical Sergeant June 1.
