Engineers rally over Sailors to win Navy’s annual regatta

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Bullship went belly up and a fast-moving shark named Hat Trick prevailed at Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime’s 4th annual Navy Cardboard Regatta held Oct. 11 at DSCC. The race is held annually on the U.S. Navy’s birthday and showcases a range of watercraft created by Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, veterans and civilians using nothing more than duct tape and cardboard. The race is open to all tenants and this year’s cardboard fleet featured a dozen teams from DLA Land and Maritime, the Navy Recruiting District Ohio and the DFAS– Columbus.

DLA Land and Maritime Commander visits Troop Support

COLUMBUS, Ohio — DLA Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Adm. John Palmer signs his name on a presidential flag Oct 4 during a visit to DLA Troop Support. As part of his orientation tour, Palmer stopped by the flag room to learn how employees make military unit flags. The presidential and vice presidential flags are made at Troop Support. As part of tradition, when distinguished visitors stop by the flag room to learn the history, they are extended an opportunity to sign their name.

2018 POW/MIA Event

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Supply Center Columbus is hosting a POW/MIA event in the Operations Center Auditorium Sept. 21. Guest speaker Strategic International Coordinator (Southeast Asia) at the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Accounting Agency Jack Kull will speak on current operations in Asia and around the world. He will also show a video explaining more about DPAA.

DLA Land and Maritime associates race across Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime associates spent their weekend running 131 miles for cancer awareness Aug 24-25, as part of the fourth annual Columbus to Cincinnati Relay Run. Team "Are We There Yet?" completed the two-day running adventure across Ohio and raised more than $2,800 to help in the fight against cancer.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Navy Captain Justin D. Debord celebrated 25 years of military service during a retirement ceremony in the Operations Center Auditorium June 29 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. In his final assignment, Debord served as the director of Strategic Acquisition Programs for the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime.
