DLA Distribution practices the Continuity of Operations Plan during National Preparedness Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Since 2002, the month of September has been observed as National Preparedness Month. September was chosen in memory of the attacks of September 11, 2001, and also because it coincides with the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. Sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency within the Department of Homeland Security, National Preparedness Month encourages Americans to take steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, schools and communities. The national preparedness architecture encompasses prevention, protection, response, and recovery efforts to prepare the United States for all hazards – whether terrorist attack or natural disaster.

Preparedness and Security Expo asks employees to ‘Be Ready’

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — From life-saving alerts to emergency rations, a Sept. 16 Preparedness and Security Expo featured various vendors, demonstrations and information to help McNamara Headquarters Complex employees better prepare for emergencies.

Employees surpass annual food drive goal fourth year in a row

HQC Active Shooter training teaches ‘Run, Hide, Fight’

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — If caught in an active shooter situation, knowing what to do before something happens is key to survival, the McNamara Headquarters Complex’s anti-terrorism officer said Sept. 15 during a National Preparedness Month seminar at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.

Susquehanna duo wins Commander’s Mission Impact award

DLA Distribution Head Quarters hosts Audit Readiness Roadshow

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — “Victory is within reach!” This is the moto Simone Reba, deputy director of Defense Logistics Agency Finance drove home, at the Sept. 1 DLA Distribution Audit Readiness Roadshow.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Associates from DLA Land and Maritime gathered in the Building 20 auditorium Sept. 10 to ready for a new season of giving as part of the Central Ohio and West Virginia Combined Federal Campaign kickoff.
