Europe Warehousing Team named one of best in DLA

GERMERSHEIM, Germany — DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch has announced the DLA Distribution Europe Warehousing Division Team as the winner of the DLA Strategic Goals Award for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015 in the Warfighter First category.

Agency senior leader visits Bahrain

BAHRAIN — Defense Logistics Agency Senior Enlisted Leader Army Command Sgt. Maj. Charles Tobin made a quick stop in Bahrain from Feb. 21 to Feb. 22 during his multi-country visit within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

Land and Maritime hosts top Navy surface warfare officer

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Vice Adm. Thomas Rowden, Commander, Naval Surface Forces U.S. Pacific Fleet, visited Defense Supply Center Columbus March 2 to discuss the current landscape of the Navy and align the two organizations in support of the warfighter. 

SGT Ashley Irmak, with the U.S. Army Medical Material Center, Europe in Pirmasens, Germany, provided Army Brig. Gen. Charles Hamilton, DLA Troop Support commander, a brief on the Optical Activities Division. Hamilton went to USAMMCE as part of his first visit to DLA Troop Support Europe and Africa.

Air Force senior leaders visit DLA Aviation

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation officials hosted senior leaders from the Air Force Sustainment Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma Feb. 23 on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Three generations of veterans with military service totaling nearly 50 years across three branches of service came together on Leap Day to continue the military tradition. Petty Officer 2nd Class Anthony Brown reenlisted for eight more years in the Navy. He's pictured with his grandfather, Karl R. Brown, a 14-year Air Force veteran, who served during the Korean War era, and his father, Karl, who retired from the Army after 26 years and two deployments to Iraq, and now works as a welder at DSCC.

Military family comes together for Leap Day reenlistment

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three generations of veterans with military service totaling nearly 50 years across three branches of service came together on Leap Day to continue the military tradition. Petty Officer 2nd Class Anthony Brown reenlisted for eight more years in the Navy in a ceremony Feb. 29 presided over by U.S. Navy Capt. Justin Debord, DLA Land and Maritime Chief of Staff, in Building 20. Brown is the son of a Defense Supply Center Columbus employee, Karl E. Brown, and wanted to reenlist at DSCC while in transition from his previous assignment at a recruiting battalion in Newark, Ohio, to his next assignment at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
