DLA ready to ship vaccines for DOD children overseas

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — DLA is ready to receive, pack and ship Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for Defense Department children ages 5 to 11 upon final approval by the Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expected early next week.

DLA Land and Maritime Commander visits command detachments

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Adm. Kristen Fabry moved strategically to reestablish in-person ties with Land and Maritime detachments at the DLA Maritime Norfolk and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard through on-site visits as travel restrictions eased across the Department of Defense. Fabry completed the two-day swing at the end of September before returning to Columbus, Ohio.

PHILADELPHIA — COVID-19 and medical logistics were key topics of discussion between the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support leaders and Navy Surgeon General Read Adm. Bruce Gillingham during a visit Oct. 20 in Philadelphia. Both sides of the table provided feedback on current and future challenges, as well as how to best partner to overcome them.
