Take care of supplies, take care of people - 375th SFS Supply fuel Defenders

Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Scott Air Force Base website — The 375th Security Forces Squadron supply team is split into different sections directly impacting the mission of Defenders across Scott Air Force Base and on deployments around the world. By issuing, inspecting and maintaining equipment behind the scenes for the 230 SFS Airmen, supply team members such as Staff Sgt. Brittany Harris, 375th SFS supply NCO in charge, helps fuel mission success.

Preparing to take command

Seven prospective DLA Energy commanding officers and two departing commanders participated in a pre-command orientation at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, May 6-7. With seven regional change of commands scheduled for June and July, the two-day course is designed to prepare commanders for their role and responsibilities as fuel providers to Combatant Commanders.

Law enforcement officers from Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, joined officers and sheriff’s deputies from Chesterfield County honoring local law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. They gathered for a wreath laying ceremony at the Police Memorial in Chesterfield, Virginia, May 11.

DLA Energy Commander visits Pacific regional commands

Fuel storage facility tours and a ribbon cutting ceremony highlighted DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Jimmy Canlas’ command familiarization tour to Alaska, Hawaii, and Guam, April 25-May 5. In his first official travel since taking command last June, Canlas hosted town halls at all three locations to meet and learn about his regional employees.

Airmen show unit cohesion by wearing new DLA Aviation unit patch

On April 1, the Air Force switched its airmen’s everyday uniform from airman battle uniforms to operational camouflage pattern uniforms. As a sign of unity, airmen assigned to Defense Logistics Agency Aviation designed a DLA Aviation unit patch that they will begin wearing on their new OCPs in mid-May.
