Mapping Customer Operations

                 MAP PRODUCT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES 


The Mapping Customer Operations is the Inventory Control Point for the Richmond Map Facility. Mapping Customer Operations (MCO) is available to assist customers during normal duty hours, 0630 to 1700 Eastern Standard Time (EST), Monday through Friday. Customer agents can respond to inquiries regarding catalog usage, ordering procedures, product availability, subscriptions, and other distribution issues. After normal duty hours, messages are forwarded to the Staff Duty Officer on call. Customers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this web site and reference the ordering procedures prior to placing an order.




PRODUCT RELEASABILITY

Classified and limited distribution products are not releasable to unauthorized users, foreign governments, international organizations or their representatives unless approved by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, in accordance with the disclosure regulations of the Department of Defense. DESTRUCTION OF AERO, TOPO, AND HYDRO PRODUCTS

Receipt of map products with superseding edition number constitutes authority for destruction of the previous edition. Disposal of map products in Federal Supply Classes 7641, 7642 and 7643 must be processed through the Defense Reutilization Marketing Office (DRMO) and treated as follows:

Classified products must be destroyed in accordance with DoDM 5200.01 volume 3 Enclosure 3 and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Demilitarization Codes for Disposal.

Limited Distribution must be treated like ‘‘For Official Use Only’’ (FOUO) documents. FOUO documents must be destroyed so that reconstruction is difficult. Local conditions may warrant more thorough destruction.

Unclassified (excluding Limited Distribution) should be disposed of in an appropriate manner consistent with local policy. Destruction questions about unrestricted NGA products not available through NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) may be directed to the Richmond Map Facility (RMF).

Reutilization, transfer or donation of map products to DRMS is prohibited.

DESTRUCTION OF DIGITAL PRODUCTS

For guidance on digital product destruction contact the National Security Agency (NSA) Customer Service at (301) 688-6672. Plastic Recycling, Incorporated has agreed to accept National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)/Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)-produced limited distribution including public sale CDs for recycling. The CDs must be separated from their plastic jewel cases and any paper wrappings or inserts. Plastic Recycling will also accept the jewel cases for recycling as long as they are separated from the CDs. Ship the separated limited distribution CDs and plastic jewel cases to the following address:
