The Defense Logistics Agency is celebrating 60 years of service in support of our warfighters, and Distribution has been a critical part of that.

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution has provided critical medical relief support during the COVID-19 pandemic. The mission is currently on going, but some current stats to date provide a scope on the amount of material it takes to fight this virus.

DLA Distribution’s Schaming retires after nearly 42 years of federal service 
Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Keith D. Reventlow, commander of DLA Distribution, presented Timothy Schaming with the Meritorious Civilian Service Award during a retirement ceremony Oct. 8, honoring Schaming’s nearly 42 years of federal service.
Oct. 18, 2021 - “We have all benefitted from his vast experience and witty sense of humor. His contributions have helped make our office a cohesive and unified team. He always met every challenge and his steadfast devotion aided in our team’s success. Tim’s retirement is our loss, but a well-deserved respite for him,” said Patrick W. Press, chief of the Customer Support Division.

Oct. 15, 2021 - The Defense Department’s Hazardous Materials Packaging Working Group, chaired by Jennifer Smith, Defense Logistics Agency Headquarters Logistic Operations Tech Quality Department, met virtually Sept. 30 to discuss remediation efforts for frustrated hazardous shipments, including a remediation process put in place by DLA Distribution.
