Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Bellwood Chapter of Blacks in Government conducted a Juneteenth Observance ceremony on June 23, 2017 at the African-American gravesite on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The ceremony celebrates African-American Emancipation Day, which is June 19, 1865.

Juneteenth observance held in Richmond

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Bellwood Chapter of Blacks in Government conducted a Juneteenth Observance ceremony on June 23, at the African-American gravesite on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Partners in Protection: Active Shooter Awareness and Response Training held on DSCR

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond’s Security and Emergency Services Office held Active Shooter Awareness and Response Training at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, June 23 in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center.

A variety of entertainers kept children occupied during the event.

McNamara HQC Family Day provides time for fun and family

Sunshine, cooler-than-average temperatures and a plethora of activities and games provided a picture perfect backdrop for thousands of employees to connect with family members and each other during the 2017 McNamara Headquarters Complex Family Day.

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Robert Mcintosh, 8th Civil Engineering Squadron pavement and construction journeyman, pushes gravel into a crater using a loader June 23, 2017, Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea. The 8th Civil Engineering Squadron participated in airfield damage repair training as part of the final Exercise Silver Flag training held at Kunsan. U.S. Air Forces Pacific will now focus on ensuring Airmen have their three-year Silver Flag currency, prior to arriving on the Korean Peninsula, instead of conducting the training here.

KUNSAN AIR BASE — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Pacific Command website — U.S. Air Force Airmen of the 554th Red Horse Squadron assigned to Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, trained members of the 8th Civil Engineering Squadron on airfield damage repair and force bed down June 19-23, 2017, as part of Exercise Silver Flag at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea.

Distribution Multicultural Committee celebrates LGBT Pride Month

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution’s Multicultural Committee celebrated the history of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month with a program on Wednesday, June 21.

Awareness it the key to prevention. Throughout the year, self-defense classes are offered on the Defense Supply Center Columbus to associates to raise awareness and teach tools that can help individuals defend themselves against common strikes and scenarios.
