Maintenance, Repair and Operations

Troop Support Maintenance, Repair and Operations

Our maintenance, repair and operations program provides tailored support for facilities maintenance, public works, civil engineering, family housing and base supply customers around the world.

There are thousands of items supported through the MRO program, ranging from lumber, paint, small tools, and assorted hardware and building supplies, to lighting, electrical, plumbing and HVAC supplies.

The MRO program was developed to help customers reduce inventories and associated costs, address reductions in infrastructure and processes, and capitalize on leveraged buying practices. Other benefits include greater control and flexibility in product selection, savings in storage and contracting costs, and on finance charges from credit cards. For more information, see our MRO Customer Guide Booklet.

What the MRO prime vendor program can do for you:

  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Brand name preference
  • Customer support/service
  • Leveraged buying power
  • Total cost savings
  • Inventory reduction
  • Streamlined acquisition
  • Reduce logistics response time
  • Improve resource management

MRO support has extended to non-Defense Department agencies such as the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the Bureau of Reclamation in Grand Coulee, Washington, federal prisons, the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, FBI, Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. Postal Service.

The Secretary of Defense cited the MRO program as one of the best practices adopted by the government in 1997. And former Vice President Al Gore honored the MRO program with his National Partnership for Reinventing Government award for its contributions.
