Defense Logistics Agency continues critical support to wildland firefighting, working with state, federal, local partners

For four years and counting, the Defense Logistics Agency has worked closely with the U.S. Forest Service during wildfire season to get wildland firefighters the equipment they need.

Total Force Airmen maximize refueling capacity in Europe

RAF MILDENHALL, England — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 507th Air Refueling Wing website — In a long-standing total force partnership between Air Force Reserve Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe, members of the 507th Air Refueling Wing are augmenting the 100th Air Refueling Wing here to provide KC-135R Stratotanker air refueling support to the European theater of operations, July 1-29.

DLA Distribution Guam, Marianas, has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Patricia A. Kuntz Distribution Center of the Year – Small award for their outstanding support to the warfighter in the Pacific.

DLA Distribution Guam, Marianas wins the Global Distribution Excellence: Patricia A. Kuntz Distribution Center of the Year – Small award

MARIANAS, Guam — DLA Distribution Guam, Marianas, has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Patricia A. Kuntz Distribution Center of the Year – Small award for their outstanding support to the warfighter in the Pacific.

DLA-provided materials such as stones, concrete and lumber were used for projects to improve the JNTC during Resolute Castle 2017, an exercise to strengthen NATO forces’ capability to train and respond to threats within the region.

Engineers improve training center in Romania with DLA-provided materials

PHILADELPHIA — The MRO team at DLA Troop Support Europe and Africa provided stones, lumber, concrete and other materials used to improve the Joint National Training Center in Romania for Resolute Castle 2017, an exercise to strengthen NATO forces’ capability to train and respond to threats within the region.

The Animal Shelter Team, made up of employees from DLA Aviation Supplier Operations and Planning Process Directorates, poses with their display June 7, 2017. The temporary team, formed to build morale and comradery, collected almost 600 items to help four local animal shelters.

Aviation organizations team to support the community while building camaraderie

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employees joined together to build morale and comradery between the two groups, as well as help the local community.

The campaign replenishes local food banks at a time of year when donations typically run low.

Annual Feds Feed Families campaign open through August

DLA headquarters employees can help make sure local families have enough to eat, by donating canned and packaged goods through August.

The exercise tested the Soldiers capability to safely and efficiently receive incoming fuel trucks and download thousands of gallons fuel. Once the fuel was received, the Soldiers cleaned and recirculated it before refilling trucks awaiting resupply.

Reserve Soldiers participate in vehicle refueling exercise at Joint Base MDL

Ceremony honors McClaugherty’s 47-year service career

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Inside an auditorium filled to standing room capacity, more than 500 DLA associates, family members and friends gathered to say goodbye to DLA Land and Maritime Deputy Commander James McClaugherty at his July 20th retirement ceremony.

Former DLA Distribution commander Army Lt. Gen. (retired) Kathleen M. Gainey has been selected as a 2016 DLA Hall of Fame inductee.
