DLA Distribution practices the Continuity of Operations Plan

In keeping with the efforts to strengthen preparedness capabilities, the Continuity of Operations planners of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution recently took the Emergency Relocation Group to an alternate work site. Federal Continuity Directive 1, dated October 26, 2012, governs the COOP program, and training visits to alternate work sites are one of its annual requirements. It states there are four pillars of continuity capabilities: leadership, staff, communication and facilities.

Industrial Hardware closes 'March Madness' with surge of contract awards

The Industrial Hardware supply chain at DLA Troop Support held its own “March Madness” competition in which employees rallied to complete 2,716 purchase requests with backorders. They also put on a full court press to award 97 first-article test contracts.

Army general officer named new DLA director

The U.S. Senate confirmed May 1, Army Maj. Gen. Darrell K. Williams for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and his next assignment as Director, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He will replace Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch, who retires May 4.
