DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas Bounces Back from Hurricane Harvey

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas is bouncing back from wind damage sustained from Hurricane Harvey, a category-4 hurricane that formed in the Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in southeastern Texas with wind speeds of up to 130 miles per hour. In the days following the hurricane, rain added another element of destruction to the already damaged area.

Distribution Transportation Team ensures meals, water and other supplies delivered to those affected by hurricanes

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — Every March, the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Headquarters Transportation Team works with Surface Deployment and Distribution Command on DLA/FEMA requirements to prepare a solicitation to the carrier industry for disaster support rates. When FEMA requirements are sent, the team utilizes the carriers and rates from this solicitation to quickly position supplies at the FEMA staging locations.

DLA Distribution San Joaquin assists FEMA in Hurricane Relief Efforts

TRACY, Calif. — As many of us marvel at the super heroes on the big screen, the real super heroes are the men and women of the DLA Distribution Expeditionary, or DDXX, team providing Hurricane Irma relief support.

Two former military trucks, issued by DLA Disposition Services through the 1033 program to Texas law enforcement, depart the Texas Federal State Property San Antonio Office as the sun sets. The next morning the trucks were operating on the east side of Houston rescuing people from flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Boats and vehicles that once supported U.S. armed forces personnel are now giving aid to those responding to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

San Carlos Park Fire Fighters use a former military cargo truck to navigate flooded streets from heavy rains to rescue 210 people and 50 animals.
