Subsistence PaCER helps provide new performance bar to Army recruits

PHILADELPHIA — Army recruits in basic combat training will start eating nutritional snack bars this summer to help prevent injuries. And an employee in training at the DLA Troop Support is largely responsible for procuring the vitamin-packed treats for recruits.

Army Lt. Col. Jacob H. Freeman, executive officer at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., officially retired on May 19 after 29 years of service to the Army.

Susquehanna’s Executive Officer retires after 29 years of service

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Army Lt. Col. Jacob H. Freeman, Distribution Management Division chief and executive officer at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., officially retired on May 19 after 29 years of service to the Army. The ceremony was officiated by Col. Brad Eungard, commander of the distribution center.

Medical employee maintains cold chain, saves money, earns DOD award

PHILADELPHIA — When DLA sends vaccines and drugs to military medical facilities, Dana Dallas ensures there are no weak links in the cold chain. The Medical supply chain employee earned the Defense Department’s Packaging Excellence Award in a ceremony in Rockaway, N.J., May 10.

Naley recognized for achievements as commander of Bahrain distribution center

MANAMA, Bahrain — Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Erik R. Naley has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain, Southwest Asia.

Nancy Martin, Troop Support Medical supply chain, accepted the gold medal on behalf of the Medical Surgical Prime Vendor team for the Economy in Government Operations Achievement award at the Excellence in Government Awards ceremony in Philadelphia May 18. Distribution police officers honor National Police Week with ceremony

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — The Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Police Force hosted a wreath laying ceremony to pay tribute to local, state, and Federal peace officers who have died in the line of duty on May 15. Each year, our nation loses between 140-160 law enforcement officers in the line of duty.
