Distribution headquarters celebrates the 242nd Army birthday

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — In a ceremony held in the DLA Distribution Headquarters auditorium, senior leaders, military members and civilian staff celebrated the U.S. Army’s 242nd Birthday on June 14, 2017. Distribution’s chief of staff, Perry Knight spoke about the significance and history of the day.

DLA Distribution’s outgoing Future Operations deputy director Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Steve Macdonald was honored with the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his accomplishments from May 2014 to June 2017 on June 6.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution’s outgoing Future Operations deputy director Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Steve Macdonald was honored with the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his accomplishments from May 2014 to June 2017 on June 6.

TEXARKANA, Texas — Army Lt. Col. Jeffrey P. Chamberlain assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas, in a June 16 ceremony. The ceremony was officiated by DLA Distribution Susquehanna commander Army Col. Brad J. Eungard.

Williams assumes responsibility as DLA director

Army Maj. Gen. (Promotable) Darrell Williams was promoted to lieutenant general and became the 19th director of the Defense Logistics Agency June 16 in a ceremony at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.

TEXARKANA, Texas — Army Lt. Col. Anthony Stoeger has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas.

Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jemme Neal and Sgt. 1st Class Isaac Wilson, both from DLA Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain, cut a cake June 13 to mark the Army’s 242nd birthday. Subsistence helped deliver 300,000 servings of birthday cake to dining facilities around the world.

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support celebrated the Army's birthday with cake before the weekly senior leader staff meeting. And the Subsistence supply chain helped soldiers around the world enjoy their cake too.
