DLA employee celebrates Earth Day teaching elementary students about recycling

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — One DLA Distribution employee went above and beyond to celebrate Earth Day April 21, volunteering her time to teach local second-graders the importance of taking care of the environment.

Employees from DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan’s Sasebo detachment work with volunteers from Commander Fleet Activities, Sasebo to pick onions in the local community.

Richmond, Virginia — Employees looking at the skyline toward Public Safety Building 201 will notice quite a change from October 2015, when ground was broken for the DLA Aviation Operations Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Local students meet with DLA Distribution’s deputy commander, learn how the warfighter receives supplies

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On April 11, students from Juniata High School’s advanced placement Political Science class visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution headquarters for an overview on how the Department of Defense supplies its men and women in uniform.

Red River’s Gibson receives Achievement Medal for Civilian Service

TEXARKANA, Texas — Sue Gibson, inventory management specialist at DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, was awarded the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service by U.S Tactical Command, on Mar. 8.

Employees from the DLA Troop Support Industrial Hardware supply chain participate in a Cross Function Day activity in the Bldg. 6 auditorium April 6. Personnel worked in small teams to construct military service insignia with hardware managed by the IH supply chain. The Cross Function Day event was designed to boost information-sharing across the supply chain’s diverse units and functions.
