DLA Troop Support ribbon cutting celebrates opening of new, state-of-the-art headquarters building

It is the start of a new era at the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia, as employees and leaders celebrated the opening of its new, state-of-the-art headquarters building. The 108,500-square-foot, four-story building was completed in October 2019, and is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified. A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of construction was held on Dec. 10.

Army recruits receive American-made athletic footwear at basic training for first time

Approximately 134 Army recruits received American-made athletic footwear at Ft. Benning, Georgia Oct. 1, thanks to Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support. Recruits at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri also received athletic footwear this week, with recruits at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and Ft. Sill, Oklahoma to receive the new shoes starting Oct. 7.

Troop Support contracting officer makes impact through process improvement

An unexpected opportunity to take a Lean Six Sigma training class jumpstarted a Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support contracting officer’s process improvement acumen and organizational impact. Robert Fagan, a contracting officer with Clothing and Textiles’ heraldic team, led a continuous process improvement project with the potential to be replicated throughout the entire enterprise.

New crop of Army food trucks to serve up healthy, fast meals for more soldiers

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support recently purchased six state-of-the-art food trucks for the Army’s Joint Culinary Center of Excellence. The first of these new vehicles rolled through the Troop Support headquarters in Philadelphia while on its way to Fort Drum, New York July 9, where it will be used for training before it goes into service.

New Troop Support commander ‘delighted’ to be back in Philadelphia

With a dose of humor and a few nods to his hometown of Philadelphia, Army Brig. Gen. Gavin Lawrence introduced himself to DLA Troop Support workforce during his first town hall meeting as commander, on July 10.
