NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — The mantle of command changed hands at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Sigonella, Italy, on May 29 as Navy Cmdr. Renae Renken relinquished command to Navy Cmdr. Aaron Smith at a ceremony presided over by Brig. Gen. Kevin L. Cotman, commanding general, DLA Distribution.

Contract oversight visit brings former sailor back aboard

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Erik Rundquist, a contracting officer with Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services, recently traveled to Japan to coordinate the award of a regional hazardous materials removal contract. The trip provided Rundquist a chance to put his military service into perspective, as he once served as a U.S. Navy sailor for three years aboard USS Warrior (MCM-10) and had the opportunity to go back aboard the ship in Sasebo. Erik shared some of his personal thoughts on the visit.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — Matthew Williams, deputy director, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution plans, training and modernization, received the Meritorious Civilian Service award, November 20, at DLA Distribution headquarters in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. He also served as the acting director from December 2023 to November 2024.
