Air Force marks 71st birthday with themes of trust, commitment

Flying blades, a brass band and remarks from a three-star Air Force deputy chief of staff marked the 71st birthday of the Air Force at the McNamara Headquarters Complex Sept. 12.

Air Force Col. Melvin Maxwell is the new DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles director, after onboarding in August. Maxwell previously served at the Pentagon as chief of the enterprise strategy and analysis branch under the deputy chief of staff at Air Force Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
