DLA director hosts DLA Aviation change of command

Richmond, Va. — Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, employees filled the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center to capacity June 28 during the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Change of Command ceremony to bid farewell to Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day and welcome Air Force Brig. Gen. Linda Hurry as the next commander.

Air Force Gen. Robin Rand (left), Commander, Air Force Global Strike Command, and the service component commander to U.S. Strategic Command, presided over the retirement of DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch at DLA Headquarters, Fort Belvoir, Virginia May 4. The two are fellow graduates of the U.S. Air Force Academy Class of 1979. At the ceremony, Rand presented Busch with the Defense Distinguished Service Medal.

DLA director retires after 38-year Air Force career

Defense Logistics Agency Director Lt. Gen. Andy Busch marked the end of his 38-year Air Force career May 4 with a retirement ceremony at DLA Headquarters, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

The 92nd and 141st Maintenance Squadrons and the 92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and work on the last Periodic Inspection of the year Dec. 9, 2015, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. During the initial phase of PE, panels are removed from the jet and Airmen look for discrepancies. Approximately 1,200 maintenance actions are found and completed throughout every PE. New forging dies and organic manufacturing improve aircraft wing spar support

Richmond, Va. — In 2014, Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, and the F-15 Eagle System Program Office identified a critical requirement for the F-15 C/D model aircraft wing spars. The spars, a critical structural component within the aircraft’s wing, were showing stress cracks.

Hurry named new DLA Aviation commander

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — The Air Force General Officer Management Office announced March 9 that Air Force Brig. Gen. Linda S. Hurry will replace Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan E. Day as commander of Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Richmond, Virginia.

Mark Johnson who is the current commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, returned to Richmond to speak with senior leaders from an Air Force customer perspective.
