EUCOM and AFRICOM regional operations director visits Distribution headquarters

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Army Col. William Krahling, director of United States European Command and United States Africa Command Regional Operations, and his staff visited DLA Distribution headquarters and its largest distribution center in the network, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on Aug. 18 to discuss DLA’s global logistics processes and how DLA Distribution supports the warfighter.

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, Sasebo Detachment, has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Patricia A. Kuntz Distribution Center of the Year award in the small category for its support to the warfighter in the Pacific Command Area of Responsibility.

Yokosuka distribution center’s Sasebo detachment wins Patricia A. Kuntz Distribution Center of the Year award

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, Sasebo Detachment, has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Patricia A. Kuntz Distribution Center of the Year award in the small category for its support to the warfighter in the Pacific Command Area of Responsibility.

Training helps ensure troops receive quality clothing items

PHILADELPHIA — Approximately 20 quality assurance representatives from the Defense Contract Management Agency visited DLA Philadelphia Aug. 5 as part of a required two-week training, C&T Technical Support Branch supervisor Elizabeth Roland said.

San Diego mock audit yields promising results

SAN DIEGO, Pennsylvania — As practice for advanced stages of its current Independent Public Accountant audit, DLA Distribution San Diego, Calif., put itself to the test, conducting its own mock audit in late July to ensure its processes are repeatable and sustainable.

RED RIVER, Texas — Shirley Merrell, a supply system analyst with DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, recently celebrated her 50th year of federal service.

Former Tobyhanna commander promoted to brigadier general

FORT BRAGG, North Carolina — Army Col. Michael Talley, former commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Tobyhanna, Pa., was promoted to the rank of brigadier general at a ceremony held at Marshall Hall, U.S. Army Forces Command in Fort Bragg, N.C., on Aug. 5.

"Taking Safety to Victory Lane" at National Night Out

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On Aug. 2, employees, installation residents, and community gathered for Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna’s annual National Night Out. This year’s theme, “Taking Safety to Victory Lane,” was presented through family-oriented activities with the goal of promoting community involvement in preventing crime and drug use, strengthening police and community relations, and encouraging neighborhood camaraderie.
