May 15-21 is National Police Week, an annual observance created in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy to recognize law enforcement officers’ service and sacrifice. The Defense Logistics Agency Police Force remained on duty throughout the pandemic and remain prepared as employees reenter the workplace.

Tyler selected as new DLA Aviation Commander

Air Force Brig. Gen. Sean Tyler has been selected to serve as the next Defense Logistics Agency Aviation commander at Richmond, Virginia. He will replace Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford, whose next assignment will be director of logistics, engineering and force protection for Headquarters Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

DLA shares Child Abuse Prevention Month efforts with DOD

April is designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Lisa Grenon and Michiel DeVito, family program managers with DLA Installation Management at Battle Creek, Michigan, and Columbus, Ohio, respectively, presented the DLA’s CAPM events to Patricia Barron, deputy assistant secretary of defense for military community and family policy during a virtual event on April 28, 2022.

Medical team partners with federal agencies to provide COVID-19 support to island nations

In continued support of the U.S. and international partners’ fight against COVID-19, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support provided over $800,000 in testing and treatment equipment to the Solomon Islands and American Samoa in April. DLA Troop Support Medical supply chain’s partnerships with the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and Department of Health and Human Services aided in the acquisition and ongoing delivery of more than 39,000 at-home tests and ten oxygen concentrators to help control the spread and effects of COVID-19.
