C&E employees conduct spring cleaning to demonstrate VPP program commitment

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support Construction and Equipment supply chain employees conduct spring clean-up event in Building 3 March 20, 2019 in Philadelphia. The leaders implemented a supply chain wide housekeeping event to demonstrate the directorate’s commitment to the VPP program, an OSHA led initiative that promotes good housekeeping in the office environment as a major part of its mishap, pest management and fire prevention efforts.

Troop Support leaders host Army Quartermaster General to discuss future battlefield requirements

PHILADELPHIA — Leaders from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support hosted the Army Quartermaster General and employees from the Joint Culinary School of Excellence March 4 in Philadelphia to discuss future battlefield requirements.

Shooting Star award recognizes the individual accomplishments of Subsistence employees

PHILADELPHIA — The Shooting Star Award allows employees to nominate fellow team members for going above and beyond the call of duty to support the warfighter and be recognized during Subsistence’s quarterly town hall meeting.

DLA Troop Support partners with Army, industry to bring food kiosks to soldiers

PHILADELPHIA — Subsistence employees in Philadelphia spent the last year conducting market intelligence research, strategizing with vendors and building new catalogs to bring Army Culinary Outpost Kiosks to life.

Five students from the University of Virginia’s Hacking for Defense course presented their recommendations from their final research project to Pentagon staff at the end of last year. The Hacking for Defense course provides university students an opportunity to work with DOD and the intelligence community to address the nation’s cybersecurity threats and security challenges.

Subsistence enlists the help of UVA students to provide feedback to improve information security operations for DOD food industry partners

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain enlisted the help of five students from the University of Virginia’s Hacking for Defense course to communicate new Department of Defense information security requirements and resources to food industry partners.

Troop Support hosts JBMDL Logistics Officers Association chapter

PHILADELPHIA — Leaders from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support hosted members of the Logistics Officer Association’s Pudgy Chapter from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to educate the members on its mission and warfighter impact during the visit Jan. 24 in Philadelphia. LOA members were provided an overview of DLA and DLA Troop Support, as well as detailed presentations from each of Troop Support’s five supply chains: Subsistence, Clothing and Textiles, Construction and Equipment, Medical and Industrial Hardware.

Finding balance at the summit: Troop Support employee climbs Kilimanjaro

PHILADELPHIA — Not many people can claim that they have danced with an African tribe, climbed to the top of the highest peak in Africa and watched a sunset from above the clouds. But thanks to an adventurous spirit and a supportive workplace, Jeff Crow can make that claim. Crow, a material planner in the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Industrial Hardware supply chain and avid trekker from Colorado, decided he needed to take a trip to provide stability to his work-life balance - and a tropical vacation wasn’t going to do the trick. He needed a challenge. He was going to climb Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro - one of the “Seven Summits,” which are the highest peaks on each of Earth’s continents.
