Service members deployed overseas, as well as those serving at the United States’ southern border, get to experience a taste of home on Thanksgiving Day due to the efforts of Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees. “America’s military men and women continually make sacrifices to secure our freedom,” said Army Brig. Gen. Mark Simerly, DLA Troop Support commander. “It is our duty to show our gratitude by providing them the very best Thanksgiving meal our country has to offer.”

Philadelphia Compound Veterans Committee observe Veteran's Day

Retired Army Master Sgt. Bill Kaemmer served as the keynote speaker during the Philadelphia Compound Veterans Committee’s annual Veteran’s Day observance, Nov. 5, 2018 at DLA Troop Support Philadelphia. Kaemmer shared the story of four United States Army chaplains who gave their lives to save those of civilian and military personnel during the sinking of the United States Army Troop Ship Dorchester on Feb. 3, 1943 during World War II.
