Aviation Hall of Fame nominations accepted through August 31

Richmond, Va. — Nominations for the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s annual Hall of Fame for 2020 are open through Aug. 31. The Aviation Hall of Fame honors former employees who have made significant and enduring contributions to DLA Aviation or Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Employee makes hundreds of cloth facemasks for coworkers

RICHMOND, Va. — To help stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, Charlotte Bell, an American Sign Language interpreter and equal employment opportunity specialist who works for Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, made about 500 facemasks since early April 2020 for her co-workers.

Training the next generation of warfighter supporters goes virtual during pandemic

RICHMOND, VA — When Defense Logistics Agency Pathways to Career Excellence Class 39 kicked off March 16, 20-year Army veteran Daryl Johnson was among the 30 members embarking on the two-year journey. The DLA Pathways to Career Excellence Program trains entry-level employees for advancement in supply, technical quality, procurement and finance fields through on-the-job work assignments, cross-training, rotational assignments and formal instruction. Johnson and his classmates were still in-processing into DLA when the agency launched a maximum telework policy March 23 due to COVID-19.
