Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is accepting nominations for the 2020 Hall of Fame through August 31. The Aviation Hall of Fame honors former employees who have made significant and enduring contributions to DLA Aviation or Defense Supply Center Richmond.

Training the next generation of warfighter supporters goes virtual during pandemic

When Defense Logistics Agency Pathways to Career Excellence Class 39 kicked off March 16, 20-year Army veteran Daryl Johnson was among the 30 members embarking on the two-year journey. The DLA Pathways to Career Excellence Program trains entry-level employees for advancement in supply, technical quality, procurement and finance fields through on-the-job work assignments, cross-training, rotational assignments and formal instruction. Johnson and his classmates were still in-processing into DLA when the agency launched a maximum telework policy March 23 due to COVID-19.

Not for Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Business Process Support Directorate’s Industrial Analysis Support Branch Chief Adam Hardee and his team, who use inventory tracking software in combination with a new predictive metric to ensure supply chain disruptions are resolved before they affect fleet repair operations.

Virtual change of command ceremony celebrates leaders’ accomplishments from afar

Navy Capt. Ernan Obellos relinquished command of Defense Logistics Agency Aviation – San Diego to Navy Cmdr. Maxine Gardner in a virtual change of command ceremony May 27 on Naval Base Coronado. DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford, who is currently on a special assignment as Deputy of the COVID-19 Supply Chain Task Force with the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Washington, D.C., officiated the ceremony virtually from his office there.
