Susquehanna’s “780 Move Crew” receives Team of the Quarter Award

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa’s., “780 Move Crew” has received the Team of the Quarter Award for third quarter, fiscal year 2014, for their efforts in optimizing and relocating stock from Building 5, to Building 780.

New Cumberland community supported during Federal Day of Service

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On Oct. 16, more than 230 federal workers throughout Pennsylvania’s Capital Region volunteered their time at local nonprofits as part of the third annual Federal Day of Service. Defense Logistics Agency Distribution’s commander, Army Brig. Gen. Richard Dix, along with local military and family members volunteered their time at the West Shore Senior Center, distributing food and other necessities to those less fortunate.

Shipmates at DLA Distribution Norfolk, Va., including LS1 Daniel Cordero, Lt. Matthew Kelley, QM1 Andrew McKnight, Capt. Harry Thetford (DLA Distribution Norfolk’s commander), LS2 Dana Plummer, Lt. Cmdr. Chris Mayfield, and Lt. Emmanuel Nneji, cut a cake honoring the 240th birthday of the Navy. In tradition, the cake was cut with the oldest and youngest members of the command.

Norfolk distribution center celebrates Navy’s 240th birthday

NORFOLK, Virginia — On Oct. 13, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Norfolk, Va., celebrated the Navy’s 240th birthday. Norfolk is DLA Distribution’s largest operation supporting Navy customers.

World War II veteran of Normandy Omaha beach landing receives medals

ATLANTA, Georgia — In a small church nestled in a quiet Atlanta, Ga. suburb, DLA Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. Richard Dix and Deputy Commanding General, National Guard Army Brig. Gen. John King, presented a World War II veteran, Army Sgt. Earnest Felton Jett, Sr. with over a dozen medals and badges including the French A Ses Liberateurs Medal, Normandy, D-Day Comm, Belgium Comm, American Campaign, Transportation Medal, Driving Badge, Qualification Badge with bars, Infantry Badge, Belgium Fouraguerre, and French Fouraguerre.

Anniston distribution center supports Operation Inherent Resolve

ANNISTON, Alabama — Over the last several months, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Anniston, Ala., has been doing its part to support Operation Inherent Resolve – the military operation against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), by supporting Foreign Military Sales requests for United States allied forces.

Distribution’s Stoff retires after 24 years in the U.S. Air Force

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Navy Chief Petty Officer Murphy Royal, former Emergency Supply Operations Center and Future Planning chief at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, has received the Global Distribution Excellence: Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year award for his exceptional performance, outstanding professional skills, knowledge and leadership.

A U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft assigned to the 555th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron takes off on a combat sortie from Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, Aug. 24. The F-16 is fitted with the F-100 series engine by General Electric, now stored and delivered for select Air Force maintenance customers out of DLA Distribution’s site in Oklahoma City, Okla.
