Commander recognizes Troop Support employees at awards ceremony

PHILADELPHIA — The commander of DLA Troop Support recognized 67 employees during a quarterly awards ceremony June 6.

Employees from the DLA Troop Support Industrial Hardware supply chain participate in a Cross Function Day activity in the Bldg. 6 auditorium April 6. Personnel worked in small teams to construct military service insignia with hardware managed by the IH supply chain. The Cross Function Day event was designed to boost information-sharing across the supply chain’s diverse units and functions.

Industrial Hardware supply chain holds Cross Function Day

PHILADELPHIA — Industrial Hardware employees gained exposure to what their co-workers do to support the warfighter during the supply chain’s Cross Function Day April 6.

Marine acquisition leaders explore expanding DLA support during visit

PHILADELPHIA — Two leaders from Marine Corps Systems Command, the service’s acquisition authority, visited Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support April 5 to learn how the agency could expand support in equipping Marines.

DLA Joint Reserve Force director visits Troop Support

PHILADELPHIA — Military reservists already contribute to the DLA Troop Support mission. And the director of DLA’s Joint Reserve Force wants to know how they can do more. Navy Rear Adm. Deborah Haven returned to her hometown of Philadelphia March 23 to discuss the role of reservists with DLA Troop Support leaders.

DLA Warrant Officers: leaders, mentors, technical experts

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency’s warrant officers are few in number, averaging only 17 Army billets and one Marine Corps billet, but their impact is felt throughout the enterprise.

New forging dies and organic manufacturing improve aircraft wing spar support

Richmond, Va. — In 2014, Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, and the F-15 Eagle System Program Office identified a critical requirement for the F-15 C/D model aircraft wing spars. The spars, a critical structural component within the aircraft’s wing, were showing stress cracks.

Defense logistics official sees potential in 3-D printing parts

Aviation senior leaders meet to dial up performance

Richmond, Va. — Senior leaders from across Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s 18 geographical locations within the U.S. traveled to Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, Feb 7-9 to meet with teammates and other DLA, military services and industry leaders to review last year’s performance and discuss how to improve support this year.
