Jacksonville materiel planner named DLA Aviation EOM

RICHMOND, Va. — Richard McGrory received the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation April Employee of the Month award for spearheading and aligning DLA Aviation at Jacksonville with “Better Buying Power concepts and practices.”

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation celebrated the Army’s 241st Birthday June 15, 2016 in the Center Restaurant on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Pictured cutting the cake are: Army Maj. DSCR celebrates Army Birthday

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, employees gathered in the Center Restaurant June 15 to celebrate the Army’s 241st Birthday. This year’s theme is “The American Soldier – Always Ready, Always Leading.”

Defense Logistics Agency’s Director of Information Operations (J6) and Chief Information Officer Kathy Cutler hosted an "Ask the CIO" Town Hall, June 8, 2016, in the Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, to provide DLA Aviation employees with insight on the agency’s current and upcoming information technology initiatives.

Cutler hosts "Ask the CIO" event

RICHMOND, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency’s Kathy Cutler, DLA Information Operations director, and chief information officer hosted an “Ask the CIO” Town Hall June 8 in the Lotts Conference Center on Defense supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The purpose of the event was to provide insight on the agency’s current Information Technology initiatives and to answer employee’s questions.

RICHMOND, Va. — Over the last year, Defense Logistics Agency has invested valuable time and resources into training employees in the four pillars of resiliency: mental, social, spiritual and physical. If you look around DLA Aviation, you can find examples of employees applying resiliency tools and overcoming obstacles; but, few portray a “picture of resilience” as well as Marc Miller.

Allan Day, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation commander, hosted a change of command and retirement ceremony for outgoing DLA Aviation at Jacksonville Site Commander Navy Cmdr. Maurice Meagher, III and incoming Navy Cmdr. Daniel Bessman at Hangar 117 on Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, May 25.

Small named DLA Aviation Employee of the Month

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Ogden employee Melissa Small was honored as the March 2016 Employee of the Month in a ceremony May 19. Small works remotely from Huntsville, Alabama, as a contracting officer aligned with DLA Aviation’s Strategic Acquisition Programs Directorate in Ogden, Utah.

Elias and Bec Dungca and their two sons, Elijah and Isaiah, lost most of their belongings in a fire Oct. 24, 2014. Through faith, family and friends, they were able to recover and return to their normal lives.

Division chief overcomes fire with faith, support from co-workers

PHILADELPHIA — Elias Dungca looked at his apartment on fire and knew that he was going to lose everything in it. His faith, family and friends helped Dungca’s family resiliently overcome the fire that destroyed their home in October 2014.
