New Director assumes command of DLA Joint Reserve Force

Navy Rear Adm. Deborah Haven assumed command of the Defense Logistics Agency Joint Reserve Force Oct 1. Haven is now assigned as the director of the Defense Logistics Agency’s Joint Reserve Force.

Commander speaks to CCPS Tech Center students about logistics, leadership

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day visited the Chesterfield County Public Schools Career and Technical Education Center (Hull Street Road location) Nov. 3, where he spoke to approximately 70 students.

Guests share Native American songs, weapons, experiences

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Wooden flutes, hunting bows and baby carriers may not seem to have much in common on first glance. But for Native Americans, they all have been integral features of daily Indian life, made by hand in ways that reflect Native values and beliefs, according to guest speakers at the McNamara Headquarters Complex’s Nov. 16 observance of National American Indian Heritage Month.

Marines celebrate 241 years of proud service

Richmond, Va — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Marine Corps members and the inspector-instructor staff assigned to Hotel Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marines, U.S. Marine Corps observed their 241st birthday with a celebration steeped in history at the Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, November 10.

Veterans honored at annual DSCC program

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Associates honored fellow veterans during Defense Supply Center Columbus’ annual Veterans Day Program Nov. 9 inside the DLA Land and Maritime Operations Center auditorium. Mr. Alphonsa Green, the Recruiting Policy Branch Chief within the Army G-1 at the Pentagon, was the guest speaker. Green took those in attendance on a walk through the history of Veterans Day. He touched on the theme “How did we get here from there?”

DLA Distribution celebrates the Marines Corps 241st birthday

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Logistics Agency, Distribution employees and leadership gathered to wish a collective “Happy Birthday” to the U.S. Marines Corps Nov. 10, in honor of the service’s 241st birthday. November 10, 1775 was the day that the Continental Marines, later renamed the United States Marine Corps, was established and each year on November 10, the United States celebrates United States Marine Corp Day.
