A Better Way

Enterprise Process Management will align DLA’s internal processes with customers’ needs and show employees how their work contributes to the agency’s overarching mission.

Richard Stewart, Army veteran, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia retiree, and owner and orator of Pocahontas Island Black History Museum, shows slave shackles and chains that were pulled from the Appomattox River. DLA celebrates Black History Month at DSCR by honoring local hallowed grounds

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency employees on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, celebrated Black History Month with an observance held Feb. 25. The program, which was held in the Lott’s Conference center, included two documentaries, displays of artifacts, photos and other historical documents, a keynote speaker and songs performed by the Bellwood Choir.

On Feb. 7, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain’s Adreana Freeman-Irons pinned on the rank of Air Force Technical Sergeant.

Nominations for DLA Hall of Fame due by March 31

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — Current and former DLA employees have until March 31 to submit nominations of former DLA employees for the 2015 DLA Hall of Fame. Former agency civilians of any grade or military members of any rank, living or deceased, can be nominated.

DLA Troop Support leaders welcomed DHA Director Navy Vice Adm. Raquel Bono and other agency leaders to Philadelphia Feb. 19 to discuss the partnership between both organizations to provide support to America’s warfighters.
