Maintenance Airmen execute mission safely during COVID-19

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Joint Base Lewis-McChord website — The World Health Organization declared a public health emergency of international concern for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Jan. 3. Since then, Air Force bases have been responding to the crisis, eventually going to mission essential personnel to maintain the safety of their Airmen while also continuing to provide worldwide support.

DLA Distribution San Diego providing mission essential support to national fight against COVID-19

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Employees with the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego are providing mission essential support to the ongoing national fight against COVID-19 by providing critical supplies to the USNS MERCY currently docked at the Port of Los Angeles. The ship and its medical crew were deployed to alleviate the load on the local healthcare system by taking onboard non-COVID-19 patients.
