Tinker units collaborate, produce first 3-D printed engine component

Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Tinker Air Force Base website — Members of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, an Air Force Sustainment Center wing, have produced the first additively manufactured metal component successfully tested on a U.S. Air Force aircraft engine, a significant milestone for future sustainment of aircraft like the E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System and the B-52 Stratofortress.

DLA Troop Support helps 1st Stryker Brigade keep its chill

The 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Carson, Colorado, requested 365 coolers for training exercises at the Fort Irwin National Training Center in San Bernardino County, California. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain made sure the coolers were delivered in preparation for the training exercise in the Mojave Desert.

To help stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, Charlotte Bell, an American Sign Language interpreter and equal employment opportunity specialist who works for Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, made about 500 facemasks since early April 2020 for her co-workers.

Recruiters Adil Zuber and Shaokang Yuan, both from the Engineering and Technical Support Directorate, along with Dawn Sutton, from the People and Culture Directorate, attended the event to speak with potential applicants.
